Luca is a guy who inspires confidence as soon as you see his smile upon entering his shop in Piateda, a few kilometres from the main town. Here you will find really fresh, super-quality products; just a small diversions off the main road is all you need to stock up on artisanal cured meats, fresh pasta and traditional delicatessen products, to take home as a souvenir of Valtellina.
The workshop, where Luca handcrafts the cold cuts (both fresh and cured such as bresaola) is located in the back of the shop. Here he also skilfully processes wild game meat from our mountains. Serena, on the other hand, makes the artisanal desserts, including ice cream, which are not only good and genuine, but also beautiful to see!
The gastronomy offers braised meat, stuffed roast meat, polenta cropa (an old recipe with potatoes, cream and cheese), the famous pizzoccheri, taroz and more, depending on the seasonal products. Daily fresh bread and pasta, in different shapes and fillings.
Finally, an excellent selection of cheeses selected by Luca from small producers of the area. Your purchases can be vacuum-packed and shipped directly to your home.
