Assoviuno

We are in the heart of the Maroggia production sub-zone: almost eight hectares of vineyards cultivated with Nebbiolo and local native vines, among which the Merlina grape stands out for its uniqueness.

For years, the Assoviuno company has been engaged in a land consolidation and reorganisation project aimed at enhancing Maroggia, a historical area of the Valtellina, where on the top of a hill there is an ancient medieval village surrounded by vineyards producing a “vinum firmum et dulce”, as San Benigno De' Medici defined it. The historic cellars, used in the past, are located in Piasci where it is possible to visit the vineyards and have tastings in the shade of a centuries-old chestnut tree. Tastings: by appointment.

The actual cellar is located in the village of Berbenno in Valtellina. Characterised by special depictions and historical notes narrated along the walls by local artists, an underground river flows beneath its foundations, keeping the temperature constant all year round. You will notice this, especially in summer, when you are greeted by the coolness of the tasting room.
