Pizzo Coca
A very young company - established only a couple of years ago in Ponte in Valtellina - that points high in terms of quality and sustainability, just like the peak from which it takes its name.
Lorenzo Mazzucconi, after experience in some important wineries around Italy, decides to come to Valtellina to take care of this uphill but fruitful land.
He initially adopted a vineyard in the Dossi Salati area, from which the Riserva Grumello Pizzo Coca is produced. Then he looked for a ‘home’ and in the old dairy in the village he inaugurated his cellar and the conversion to organic production. He now manages almost two hectares of vines.
The other passion linked to the mountain territory is beekeeping. Lorenzo produces various honeys by moving his 90 hives (from 550 to 1300 metres) in search of pollen and nectars far from pollution. He is also keen to experiment with the cultivation of indigenous seeds and animal breeding.
Self-managed sales point in Ponte in Valtellina: open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
