Ascesa
Ascesa was born in 2018 from the desire of 4 friends, passionate about viticulture, to produce Nebbiolo on the steep terraces of Valtellina. The winery is located in Tresivio, a small village in the province of Sondrio, surrounded by the dry stone walls that characterise the most extensive terraced territory in Italy.
Ascesa was born as a challenge: to cultivate the vineyards manually (as the land requires), without the help of machines, but with the knowledge that the many nuances obtained from the Nebbiolo grape (locally called Chiavennasca) will repay all the effort required to produce even a single bottle of wine. The vineyards are cultivated in the Valtellina Superiore Docg (Sasselle and Grumello) and Rosso di Valtellina appellations. From small plots of land, with vines ranging in age from 25 to 80 years, two red wines are born that combine elegance and character, expressing the authentic face of this wonderful terroir.
